Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) 18 "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
One of the things I loved about being in the military was, every few years I got to pull up stakes and make a fresh start in a new place. That was the same reason I was excited when we moved to Spokane three years ago.
How many of you here “would love to have a fresh start in your Christian life?” I know I do.
Most of us have made many mistakes in our lives. We have experienced many setbacks, failures and pain throughout our lives. Sometimes we allow these mistakes, these setbacks and failures to enslave us to the point that we never enjoy life.
Jesus said in John 10:10 (NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life (a fresh start) and have it to the full (overflowing Joy).
The enemy does not want you to have a fresh start in life. The good news is, God DOES. Doesn’t it get you excited to know that God desires to give you a fresh start, to put JOY back into your life?
Maybe you feel like you have made so many mistakes, you have failed God so many times that God doesn’t want anything to do with you. Listen to me, that’s a big LIE STRAIGHT FROM THE PITS OF HELL. God is far more interested in our future than He is in our past.
You can have a FRESH START today. It’s your choice, who are you listening to today the enemy or God?
